Zhangheng-1 02 satellite launches with Italian instruments

The China Seismo-Electromagnetic Satellite was launched from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center in northwest China. Chinese and Italian teams involved in the mission say the collaboration holds significance beyond their two countries. Sun Ye has more.
China launched an electromagnetic satellite, also known as Zhangheng 1-02, from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center on Saturday. The launch was declared a complete success.
The satellite will contribute to research into predictions of earthquakes, tsunamis, volcanic eruptions, extreme weather on the ground, and space weather events.
