Organization

The China Seismo-Electromagnetic Satellite (CSES) is a Chinese scientific space program carried out in cooperation with Italy. It is jointly developed by the China National Space Administration (CNSA) and the Italian Space Agency (ASI). The mission is led by the National Institute of Natural Hazards (NINH) under the Ministry of Emergency Management (MEM) of China, and the National Institute for Nuclear Physics (INFN) of Italy, with contributions from several Chinese and Italian universities and research institutes.

Italy participates in the CSES program through the Limadou Collaboration, coordinated by ASI and INFN. The collaboration also involves the National Institute for Astrophysics (INAF), the National Research Council (CNR), the National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology (INGV), and the universities of Roma Tor Vergata, Trento, Torino, L’Aquila, Bologna, Napoli, and UniNettuno (UTIU).

On the Chinese side, key partners include the China Academy of Space Technology (CAST), the China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation (CASC), Dong Fang Hong (DFH) Satellite Co., Ltd., the National Space Science Center (NSSC), the Lanzhou Institute of Physics (LIP), and other participating institutions.
